THE PROCESS OF OBTAINING A DRIVER'S LICENSE

Step 1 – Application/Enrollment

Application and enrollment are possible at our school personally at our offices, during opening hours, or by completing the form HERE .

Required documents and conditions for enrollment:

- Personal documents

- Driver's license (if you already have it)

- The first installment of the tuition fee (theoretical coursefee)

- Medical fitness certificate, if you already have it (if you don't have it yet, you can get it on the way, but you must have it by the application time for the Theoretical exam at the latest)

Step 2 – Completion of the theoretical course(e-learning)

Due to the changed needs, only online traffic regulations courses are available at our school.

E-learning differs from the classroom traffic regulations course. During e-learning the preparation is done individually, online, with the help of a dedicated website. Upon receipt of the tuition fee for the e-learning course, you will get access to the curricula. Once you mastered it, we will register you to the Theoretical exam. The curricula are available for a 180-day period with 75 online hours.

Step 3 – Theoretical exam

Conditions for admission to the Theoretical exam:

- At least 16 years and 9 months of age

- Completed application form (we print this at the school)

- School certificate proving at least 8 classes of primary education (must be presented at the exam)

- Medical fitness certificate

- Driver's license (if you already have it)

Application for the traffic regulations exam must be done personally at the school with the medical fitness certificate and payment of the exam fee.

You must attend at the Theoretical exam for the first time within 9 months of the start of the traffic regulations course. If you do not pass your Theoretical exam within 12 months from the start of the course, you can only apply for the Theoretical exam again after repeating the entire traffic regulations course. The cost of this will be borne by you. You must take the first exam within 9 months of the start of the traffic regulations course. Driving practice lessons can only be started after a successful Theoretical exam. The driving practice exam must be done during a 2-year period starting from the date of the Theoretical exam. Should you fail to this condition all courses must be started from the beginning.

Step 4 – Completing the driving practice course

It is important that you can tell us in advance what time of day and how often you want to drive, so that we can choose the most suitable instructor for you. You can find more information about our instructors and educational locations HERE .The driving practice lessons are 50 minutes long, with a 10-minute break between two lessons. Two driving practice lessons can be combined. The mandatory number of driving practice lessons is 29 hours, and if the prescribed minimal 580 km is completed during that number of lessons, then the 30th lesson is the lesson of the traffic exam.
You can apply for the driving practice course by paying for the first ten class occasions.

Step 5 – Completing the driving practice exam

Our instructors strive to prepare you for the driving practice exam as thoroughly as possible. We will coordinate the date of the driving practice exam with you in advance.

Conditions for the admission to the driving practice exam:

- 17 years of age by the day of the exam

- Compulsory completion of 29 driving hours

- Completion of the required 580 km driven

- Valid identity card or passport

- Presentation of an existing driver's license

Step 6 – Completing the first aid course and exam

Should you already have a driver's license of a different category that required the first aid exam, you do not need to pass again.

An online first aid course is available at our school. The first aid course at the Hungarian Red Cross can also be completed in a classroom type. You can complete the first aid course at any time during the process of other mandatory courses, but the first aid exam certificate must be shown to obtain the driver's license document. The first aid exam fee must be paid to the account of the Hungarian Red Cross. Do not pay it to the driving school!

Step 7 – Issuance of the driver’s license

From the day after a successful driving practice exam, you can visit any Okmányiroda (Office of Government Issued Documents) with the request of preparation and issuance of your driver’s license. Take your ID, your existing driver's license, the medical fitness certificate and the first aid exam certificate with you. The authority has 30 days to issue the driver's license, but it usually arrives much sooner.
